Foot in the door?

Sun Dec 20, 2009, 3:51 PM
  • Mood: Christmas Spirited
  • Reading: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
  • Watching: My new Tom Hardy GIF. It's hypnotic.
  • Drinking: Tea
Rage Against The Machine made Christmas number 1! Somewhere along the way the campaign turned from anti X-Factor monopoly to a campaign of musical snobbery against pop music though, which I do NOT agree with, but I am pleased with the result. It's quite uplifting that people have managed to achieve something that initally seemed so impossible at the end of what has, in all honesty, been a pretty shit year all round. I really am hoping that X-Factor will take note of the protests of the last two years and release their single on a date other than Christmas week. I feel very bad for Joe and I hope that he makes number 1 next week, as it's not fair that he has been caught in the middle of all of this.

Still, there is hope for England yet! And come on... Killing In The Name as Christmas number 1 2009? How awesome is that?! And we get a free gig out of it. SCORE. I am so there.

And Team Cola won Strictly Come Dancing! Oh British public, how I love thee.

In other news, I'm still plodding my way through writing my fifth chapter, but I am so. Very. Close! This thing gets longer and longer. I am now on 80 pages and fast approaching 60,000 words. Blimy! Also, I am becoming far too fond of my antagonist. Not long now before the plot kick-off. Hoorah!

Also *continues very tenatively* I now have a contact with their foot in the door, so to speak, who has offered to read my stuff and will give me some adult and professional advice. Ahhhh! I am simulaneaously extremely excited and at the same time COMPLETELY TERRIFIED at this prospect. My stuff suddenly all seems so amateur. But hey, that's what she's there for, right? To help me make it better?

Christmas soon! YAAAAAAY! And I've been working my arse off at Waterstone's and have got + monies again :D which is always good.

Sallella signing out.

Hehe, you can put your literature up if you're feeling brave. But I'd completely understand if you dont. But it is so nice to find complete strangers complimenting you on your work...
